Johanna Stenqvist, PhD
Medical Science Liaison

Johanna is an experienced pharmacologist with a PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences (University of Gothenburg, 2020). Her research focused on characterizing and comparing signaling interactions at different levels of the micturition reflex arc in the healthy and inflamed (animal model of Interstitial Cystitis) rat urinary bladder. The project included the use of a novel in vivo model enabling the study of afferent/efferent nerve signaling involved in the initiation of bladder contraction. After her PhD, Johanna worked as a Course Leader and Programme Coordinator for the Pharmacy Program at the University of Gothenburg, which allowed her to continue her research with a new project that aimed to identify afferent nerves involved in bladder relaxation and to characterize associated relaxatory effects.

In 2021, Johanna joined the Medical Affairs department at Go North Medical as a Medical Science Liaison (MSL). Her main responsibility is to liaise scientific data to internal and external parties while keeping up to date with current clinical research. She provides evidence-based scientific information and summaries for any research-related inquiries raised by healthcare professionals and communicates clinical evidence by holding presentations in the field.
