Would you like a brief understanding of the available evidence and the newest developments for major #surgical treatments used in drug-resistant generalized epilepsy?

Today we would like to share a review by Bullinger et al. (Jun. 2022) summarizing recent evidence for different surgical options in drug-resistant epilepsy (#DRE) patients with generalized epilepsy. This review included the rationale for using different surgical modalities, the general procedure, patient selection, parameter settings (for #neuromodulation treatments), and complications associated with corpus callosotomy and neuromodulation treatments (vagus nerve stimulation (#VNS) and deep brain stimulation (#DBS)), respectively.
